It’s Great To Be An Amurrikan!

Filed under: American Empire — Tags: , — Walter Ebmeyer @ 8:08 am

There are those (like your brother-in-law) who will tell you that this is the greatest country in the world.  Despite all the whining about infant mortality, life expectancy, reading levels, infrastructure, healthcare, etc., we are the best! This article suggests some responses to such talk.

I read mr Jensen’s article. His understanding of American exceptionalism is incorrect. We are exceptional because of the opportunities afforded us by our constitution. You look to the government to solve the problems you site above. Why do infant mortality life expectancy reading levels healthcare have anything to do with government. They are not responsibilities of the US government. (I might give in on infastructure as long as you are not talking about mass transit. All you libs like the idea that a billionaire will have to sit next to a waitress on a cramped train. Its just class warfare. )

Your blog reminds me of a 6th grade essay about how you would change the world if you were president.

    • I am 75 years old and taught and administered in private (independent) schools for 40 years. What does that mean?
