What’s Going Wrong In Washington

Robert Reich is disappointed by Obama’s centrism.  “The public is bring told a big lie – that our problems owe to unions and the size of government and not to fraud and deregulation and vast concentrations of wealth.  Obama’s failure is that he won’t challenge this Republican narrative, and give people a story that helps them connect the dots and understand where we’re going.”  Paste the link to your browser.

  1. Interestingly, the referenced interview with Reich is entitled “Obama’s caution Disappoints a Backer” in the print version of the Times, but online at it’s entitled “Obama the Centrist Irks a Liberal Lion.”

Are the Times’ in-print and online editors disagreeing over whether progressives have moved from being “disappointed” to being “irked”?

In a google search, Obama + disappoints gives 187,000 results. Obama + irks gets only 72,500 to date but Obama + angers totals 522,000. Of course progressives aren’t the only ones being disappointed, irked, and angered, though they might well take up the bulk of those descriptors on issues of peace and war.
